Conversational Hypnosis: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility!

Submitted by: Ian Davis

Conversational hypnosis is a technique of hypnosis that can be used on any person whilst they are still conscious without them having any awareness of it. By using apparently simple conversation combined with subtle yet powerful mannerisms, cadences etc. the hypnotist is able to implant coercive thought s into the subjects subconscious mind . Therefore conversational hypnosis differs from other traditional forms of hypnosis because it is dependant upon both the subjects continued consciousness (they do not go in to a sleep like trance) and their total obliviousness to the fact that they are being hypnotised.

Herein lays the main reason why conversational hypnosis is both so powerful and so controversial.

It is powerful, and certainly at it’s most effective, when the subject has no awareness whatsoever that they are being hypnotised. This means that they have no conscious rejection of the suggested thought processes made by the conversational hypnotist. Consequently, these thoughts are adopted by the subject as their own and they are far more likely to act on them without the continued reinforcement often required in other forms of hypnotism.

However conversational hypnosis is seen by some as controversial for exactly the same reason. Quite simply some feel it is unethical to hypnotise someone without their express consent.

This situation is not exactly helped by the fact that some conversational hypnotists refer to the technique as covert hypnosis. In addition they continue to promote the myth that conversational hypnosis is in some way magic or a dark art .

The recent emergence of relatively inexpensive, online training courses have placed conversational hypnosis within the reach of the general public. Unfortunately even some of the better training courses available continue to play upon this image. Whilst it is perhaps understandable from a marketing perspective, especially given the traditional theatrical background of some of the leading conversational hypnotists, as anyone who actually studies this fascinating technique soon discovers, conversational hypnosis is far from being hocus-pocus but is rather a functioning set of scientifically proven techniques based upon well founded psychological observation and practice.

However conversational hypnosis is simply a skill that anybody who applies themselves can learn. Like any other powerful technique that can affect others it has no morality. The morality of its use is down to the individual that uses it.

For example any one can learn to write. Thereafter they can either write beautiful poetry that lifts and inspires or viscous hate mail that drives the recipient to an early grave. The point is that it’s not the act of writing that is immoral but rather how the individual chooses to use their skill.

In the same way you can use conversational hypnosis to help and support others personal development; you can use it to build your business or improve your love life or you can use it to ridicule other people or make them have negative and destructive experiences.

However if you don’t want to hurt anybody and would like to know more then why not download the amazing free ebook The Art of Conversational Hypnosis by Karl Reibach. This will give you a fantastic insight into some of the common techniques used by skilled conversational hypnotists.

South Korean men’s national goalball team defeats Algeria 4-3

Thursday, August 30, 2012

London, England — South Korea earned a 4–3 goalball victory against Algeria earlier today in the fifth match of the day at London’s Copper Box.

South Korean Sung-Wook Hong was the game’s leading scorer with 4 goals. He is a B2 classified blind competitor, though classification is largely irrelevant in goalball as all classified blind players wear masks to provide even levels of sight in the game.

The B2 classified Algerian Mohamed Mokrane led his team in scoring, with two points. From Chlef, he captains a side that qualified by winning the 2011 Africa Oceania Regional Championships in Sydney, Australia. His team comes into the Games having finished sixth at last year’s World Championships.

In a previous match today, Iran defeated China by a score of 9–5 after having been ahead 4–2 at the half.

Three Cactus Cutting Fundamentals

By Jiraiya Morgan

Cactus cutting is a great way to increase your number of cactus quickly and cheaply. It’s free which is much cheaper than buying another cactus. When cutting your cactus there are three things you need to know. These three things you need to know when cutting cactus are how to take a cutting, how to plant, and how to water your new cactus cutting. If you follow these three fundamentals part of your own cactus should make you a brand new one. Why says that you can’t get something for nothing?

First of all we must cut the cactus correctly in order to have a healthy new cactus. It is important to use a clean, sharp knife when making our cut. Most importantly we have to make sure that the cactus we are cutting is in very good health if it’s not a cutting could kill your original cactus which would defeat the whole point of trying to make another one. When making our cut it’s important to cut at a segment. Also if we are making several cuttings out of one cactus stem we have to make sure that we know which side is the top and which side is the bottom. This is because if you plant our cactus cuttings upside down it won’t grow. Now that we have successfully cut our cactus cutting we have to successfully plant it.

This step is where most people make a mistake, so pay close attention. First let your cactus cutting dry out until it has ‘calloused over.’ You know that the cutting has calloused over when the cut end has dried and sealed itself over. When you plant the cutting you want to plant it about 1 or 2 inches into the soil. Another good tip to use before you plant your cutting is to dip it in fungicide / rooting hormone. Now that we our cactus has ‘calloused over’ and is planted we have to water it right, WRONG.

Did I say that planting your cactus cutting is the most important I lied. The most common cause of death of all cacti is not watering them properly. When you plant your cactus cutting, do not water it for about two to four weeks. Then, water you cactus cutting every 2-3 weeks. It’s important to remember that cacti thrive in the desert and that there’s not much water in the desert. So, do your cactus a favor and treat it like it’s in the desert.

Cactus cutting like all gardening can be a lot of fun. As you may have already guessed there are some other things that I didn’t include like how to water your cactus during the winter, how to avoid fungal soft rot. But, these things aren’t really about planting your cactus cutting and if I including everything I know about cacti I wouldn’t be able to fit it all in this article. But, now you know how to successfully perform a cactus cutting.

Greece formally asks for EU-IMF loans

Friday, April 23, 2010

Greece has formally asked for rescue loans by the European Union and International Monetary Fund (IMF) to be activated, aimed at helping the country recover from an economic crisis.

Under the plan, countries in the Eurozone will provide up to 30 billion euros in loans in the first year, while the IMF will contribute ten billion euros.

“The moment has come,” said Greek prime minister George Papandreou. He stated that it is “a national and pressing necessity for us to formally ask our partners for the activation of the support mechanism, which we jointly created in the European Union.” The prime minister added that “several days will pass before money can start being drawn.”

Under the bailout, Greece’s borrowing needs for the immediate future will be covered, so it can avoid default and keep servicing; the request needs to be approved by all fifteen countries using the euro, and will be reviewed by the European Central Bank.

African nations gather to support a ban on cluster bombs

Thursday, April 3, 2008

A 39-nation coalition in Africa passed a declaration on Tuesday to ban cluster bombs in a nearly unanimous vote. The gathering in Lukasa, Zambia was the first meeting of the Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC) in Africa.

“Africa is ready for Dublin,” summarised Zambian delegate Robert Mtonga, referring to the upcoming May 19-30 meeting in Ireland to discuss a global ban on the weapons. “Too often Africa’s voice is pushed to the margins in international decision-making. But in banning cluster bombs worldwide, a common African voice will speak volumes and win the day”.

Too often Africa’s voice is pushed to the margins in international decision-making. But in banning cluster bombs worldwide, a common African voice will speak volumes and win the day.

Mtonga was critical of South Africa, the lone voice against Monday’s decision and the continent’s largest producer and stockpiler of cluster bombs, and called on the country to destroy its munitions and join the coalition to outlaw their use. Egypt, the only other African nation to produce the controversial weapons, voiced support for the ban.

“Strong political will” was credited with the resolution, by CMC co-ordinator Thomas Nash in recognising the drive “to stop the proliferation of this outdated weapon”.

In a released statement the CMC said that 19 African countries, including South Africa, have endorsed the Wellington Declaration. The Wellington Declaration is the basis for the upcoming negotiations at the Dublin Diplomatic Conference in Ireland in May.

While countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom have tabled the idea of a “transition period” during which time cluster bombs would remain a legitimate weapon of war, the African delegation was resolutely against the idea, calling for an immediate ban.

Cluster munitions are dropped from aircraft, opening in mid-air and releasing a large number of smaller explosives over a wide area. Writer Theodora Williams stated that their use usually results in “…the death and maiming of thousands of innocent civilians”.

There are currently 13 African nations that possess cluster bombs although Uganda has recently announced they are destroying their stockpiles. The weapons have been used in eight African conflicts in the past 35 years. In addition to Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria and the Sudan, other nations known to have used the weapons are the former Yugoslavia, Eritrea, France, Israel, the Netherlands, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tajikistan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the United States, China, Russia, and Israel have resisted any ban on cluster bombs, arguing that they can be used in self-defense. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the United States has lobbied allies to create loopholes in the upcoming Oslo treaty, to allow for the use of cluster bombs. Reuters reported that a U.S. official had stated that cluster bombs should not be banned if they are used responsibly in state conflicts.

In October 2007, Uganda became the first African country to state it would destroy its cluster bomb stockpiles. Uganda has announced a pan-African meeting to take place after the Dublin meeting, which would seek to garner support for the signing of a treaty in Oslo set to take place in December 2008. The weapons have been used in eight African conflicts in the past 35 years.

The CMC is an international network composed of over 250 civil society organizations in 60 countries, with the stated aim of protecting civilians from cluster munitions. Members of the CMC have been working to complete an international treaty to ban cluster munitions by 2008.

At the February CMC committee meeting in New Zealand, only 82 of the 122 nations present endorsed a draft ban on the production, usage or storage of cluster bombs.

byAlma Abell

Have you ever been sitting in your home or office with sweat just pouring off your body because your air conditioning is broken? Hopefully you have a trusted heating and air conditioning company you can call to come right out and repair your equipment. Preferably you can find a family owned business, because they tend to do a good job since their family name is on the line. They also tend to treat their employees like family which keeps them happy. You will probably prefer to have a happy technician to be working on your expensive HVAC system rather than one who is not at all happy with the faceless corporation they work for!

A good HVAC company will provide more than just Air Conditioning Installation in Cornelius NC. They also offer repair services on the air conditioner as well as services on the heating equipment for both residential and commercial units. They also offer emergency services during or after regular business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. The company should be able to work on all brands and types of HVAC equipment regardless of the year or model including gas furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, duct systems, duel fuel systems, and more. The technician will be able to catch any small problems before they become large problems. Maintenance on your heating unit includes adjustment of gas pressure, cleaning of furnace burners, and adjustment of air flow.

The HVAC company who does all this plus a whole lot more is Air Dynamics MS, LLC in North Carolina. This is a third generation company that has been family owned since 1923. The company is properly licensed and insured to take care of all your heating and air conditioning work.

The European country of Slovakia will have the euro replace the koruna as its official currency, starting January 1, 2009. Slovakia is the sixteenth country to start using the euro. The official conversion rate is set at 30.126 koruna to one euro.

Joaquín Almunia, the European Union Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner, stated that the conversion will be “a proud moment for the euro area […] the euro has become the symbol of EU identity and is protecting us against the tremendous external shocks that we have had to cope with since the summer of 2007.”

January 1 also marks the tenth anniversary of the euro being introduced as globally exchangeable currency.
